Creating Strength Based Goals

It's still a brand new year, and new opportunities to be the most courageous version of ourselves are going to be and probably have been presenting themselves. I bet, if you’re anything like me, you had quite a list of well meaning self improvements or goals for 2021- but let's face it, our behaviors aren't so easy to change, and our mindset and routines can (and often do) push back. It really takes some self discipline to create a new groove of habits, or to stay on top of a new idea.

If you're already feeling like your excitement is fading, you've slipped up on your goals or you made too many avenues of change at once, you're not alone. I encourage you to take a few deep breathes, and get out a journal and your strengths, because today is a new day and I'm about to help you make goal setting a whole lot more intuitive!

This is where it gets good- and why having your personalized strengths reports makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE!

Instead of making habit changes or goals that go against your natural grain, Look at your goals next to your strengths. Do they align? or are you inadvertently causing a ton of friction within yourself? Friction can be great, but when you're working on creating long lasting change, or getting a project done- intuitive, small, actionable and digestible steps are the best.

Look at your Themes Insights, and also your Contributions and Needs Report. How can you tackle your goals, using your energizers? How can you get closer to your goals using your innate contributions? Write down your goals and then one or two actionable steps that get you toward your destination that also use your own internal rewards.

What goals do you have for yourself this year?
